Vinyl banner size guide: what size do I need?
For a storefront, 3 x 8 ft is a common choice. Event and booth banners are often 2 x 4 ft to 3 x 6 ft, and big outdoor announcements go up to 4 x 10 ft. Measure the spot, keep the message short, and make the main words big enough to read from where people will actually be.

Common sizes and uses
- 2 x 4 ft: table fronts, small booths, indoor signs
- 3 x 6 ft: market booths, windows, small storefronts
- 3 x 8 ft: storefronts and grand openings
- 4 x 10 ft: big outdoor announcements, fences, building fronts
How big should the text be?
A banner is read in a few seconds, often from across the street or from a moving car. Use 5 to 7 words, one main line much larger than everything else, and high contrast colors. A common sign-maker rule of thumb is roughly 1 inch of letter height for every 10 feet of distance you want it read from comfortably.
Hanging it
- Grommets every 2 feet: hang with rope, bungees or zip ties
- Hemmed edges: stronger in wind
- Pole pockets: on request, for poles or frames
- Outdoor: 13 oz vinyl is weatherproof and made for outdoor use
